Privacy policy
Your plans are personal. Here is how your information is used.
Optional notifications and Android widgets
Notifications are off until you explicitly enable them and grant browser permission. We store your browser push endpoint and encryption keys with your account, selected area and interests to deliver matching new-event alerts. Push services such as Google, Mozilla or Apple process delivery requests. You can disable alerts in Profile; this removes the device subscription. Delivery attempts are retained for up to 30 days. Android widget preferences and cached public events are stored on that Android device; no precise GPS access is required. Widgets refresh periodically and can show older data when offline.
Who handles your information
Party Crashers is responsible for the information used to operate this app. This notice covers the app, not external event websites or ticketing providers.
What we use and why
When you sign in, Clerk handles authentication; we use your account identifier, name, email and profile image to provide your account. Supabase stores your profile preferences, saved event identifiers, followed organizers, published events, uploaded posters, reports and registration-click records. We use this information to deliver requested features, keep listings safe and maintain the service. Account features rely on providing the service; security and abuse prevention rely on legitimate interests, subject to your rights.
Location and recommendations
Your chosen area, interests and optional campus personalize event ordering. Precise location is optional and requested through your browser only when you select location features. You can deny permission or revoke it in browser settings. Coordinates may be sent with a nearby-events request to calculate distance; we do not create a continuous location history. Recommendations are simple event rankings, not decisions with legal or similarly significant effects.
Cookies and device storage
Clerk uses necessary authentication technology. Local browser storage remembers appearance, onboarding, preferences, drafts and account-specific saved plans. Clearing site data removes local choices and unpublished drafts. The app does not currently include advertising trackers or analytics cookies.
Service providers and external links
Clerk provides sign-in and Supabase provides database, API and poster storage. Maps load from Mapbox when configured, or Leaflet with an OpenStreetMap-based tile service; those providers receive technical request data such as IP address. Providers may process information outside Nigeria under their applicable safeguards. Opening an organizer link shares your request with that independent website. Cloudinary is not connected in this version. We do not sell personal information.
Retention and security
We retain account information while needed to provide your account and handle requests, abuse prevention and legal obligations. Public event information remains visible until removed. Access controls separate account records, and authenticated requests verify your session. No internet service can promise absolute security. Deletion requests include associated records and uploaded media, subject to lawful retention and backup expiry.
Your choices and rights
You may request access, correction, deletion, portability where applicable, restriction or objection to processing, and withdraw consent without affecting earlier lawful processing. You may complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission at ndpc.gov.ng. You can browse without an account, change interests and appearance in Profile, or revoke browser location permission.
Children and updates
The app is not directed at children under 18. Organizers may set additional event age limits. If you believe a child has supplied personal information, contact us so we can review and remove it where appropriate. Changes to this notice appear with a revised date, with additional notice where required.
Contact
The app is in private preview. Contact its owner through the channel that provided your invitation. A public support address will be added before public launch.
